Slide 2 - The Bald Eagle The eagle is one of the biggest and most powerful birds in the world. Eagles live almost everywhere, except Antarctica. There are about 60 kinds of eagles. The bald eagle is the national bird of the United States.
Slide 3 - The Bald Eagle Eagles eat meat. During the day, they hunt small animals. Sometimes they steal prey from other animals and even eat dead animals. They usually stay away from danger ,but some kinds of eagles may attack to guard their nests and young.
Slide 4 - The Bald Eagle An eagles chief weapons are its powerful legs ,feet, and claws. Eagles also have excellent eyesight and strong, hooked beaks. Their wings spread about 4 to 8 feet (1.2 to 2.4 meters) form tip to tip. Females are usually larger than males. Wild eagles live as long as 30 years.

Sometimes the male sits on the eggs for a short time. After t the eggs hatch, both parents guard the nest and feed their young.
