The family of Sudhir Mehta, Harshad Mehta, and Hitesh Mehta consists of his parents, Shantilal and Rasilaben Mehta, as well as three siblings. Including Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya schemes, it is the largest fraud of today, even after taking into account the schemes of Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya. A ready-forward transaction was then conducted by banks, whereby they exchanged cash for one another without transferring government assets. Instead, the lender bank received bank receivables from the borrower bank. A nationwide online series that vividly and intricately portrayed the complete swindle that occurred in 1992 exploded in 2020. The last case from which Ashwin Mehta was exonerated was the SBI fraud case, for which he was temporarily imprisoned. However, he was exonerated of all charges by a special court in 2018. As restitution for all of the fraudulent acts committed by Ashwin Mehta in 1992, he also had to pay back a substantial sum of money to many banks totaling Rs. 1700 crore. Ashwin Mehta is a lawyer practicing in the Supreme Court and the High Court of Mumbai. He has been fighting by himself for years to clear his name and the names of his family from the scandal. In the end, he prevailed and he is now leading a respectable life. Ashwin Mehta is currently thought to have a net worth of between 25 and 30 crores and is leading a respectable life in Mumbai with his family.
