Slide 1 - American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course Class Dates and Times (participants must attend ALL days/classes in each session to be eligible for certification) Session 1: April 20 – 22 Day 1: April 20th (6:30 pm – 9:30 pm) Day 2: April 21th (8:30 am – 7:00 pm) Day 3: April 22nd (8:30 am – 7:00 pm) Session 2: May 10 – 13 Day 1: May 10th (6:30 pm– 9:30 pm) Day 2: May 11th (6:30 pm – 9:30 pm) Day 3: May 12th (8:30 am – 7:00 pm) Day 4: May 13th (8:30 am – 2:00 pm) Fees: $210 per participant Each participant will receive the following materials on the first day of their session: Lifeguard manual CPR mask Participants will need to bring the following items with them to class every day of their session. Swimsuit Change of Clothes Towel Pen or Pencil Notepad Upon completion of the course, participants will hold the following certifications: ~ Lifeguarding (Valid 3 years) ~ First Aid (Valid 3 years) ~ CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (Valid 2 year) Course Prerequisites All participants must be able to successfully complete the following requirements to participate in this lifeguard course. Must be a minimum of 15 years of age by the completion of the course Swim a length of 300 yard, 100 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing, 100 yards breaststroke, 100 yards front crawl or breaststroke or a combination of both Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds. All Registrations are due with payment no later than 4 days before the start date of the session. No registration will be taken without payment. Refunds will no longer be issued within 72 hours of the course.
